Dr. Goldade has a Fully Virtual Practice. We are confident your child's problems can be managed in a safe, efficient and convenient manner within the Virtual
Medical Office.
The office abides by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta Standards of Practice regarding Virtual Medicine. Please note:
• This is a virtual mental health consultation practice.
• Physical examinations are not routinely provided.
• If during the course of assessment it is determined that an in-person examination is required, you will be advised to see your primary care provider, attend urgent care or your child may
be referred for in-person assessment with a colleague when clinically indicated.
• If you feel that this is not the type of care you wish for your child, you are welcome to ask your Family Doctor or Primary Care Provider for a referral to a Paediatrician who offers in
person care.

Why has Dr. Goldade going fully virtual? Given the type of practice I have and the types of patients I interact with, I truly feel I can help manage
patients and their problems via a Virtual Platform in a safe, efficient & convenient way for the patient and their families.
-
What is Dr. Goldade’s Goal? We try to be as paperless as possible. All documents and Forms are sent/managed in a paperless fashion. This would include
forms for school, letters of diagnosis, Disability Tax Credit, AISH applications. And families/patients do not have to leave the comfort of their home or school. No need to travel. No need to
pay for parking. No need to take a large amount of time from work or school for a visit with the doctor.
-
I don’t have a computer, what do I do? We can organize a Virtual Visit over your mobile phone. We recommend that you download the THConnect App as
it's the most convenient way to book appointments, join the Virtual Visit and send messages/documents.
-
Will I have to pay to have a Virtual Visit with Dr. Goldade? No, there is no cost to the patient for a Virtual Visit as long as your child has an Alberta
Health Care Insurance Number & you reside in Alberta.
-
Can more than one person be on the Virtual Visit? Yes, but the Virtual Visit link will be sent to the one email
we have on file directly from Telus Virtual Health. (Note that our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) allows for only ONE email in the email field. Any automated email correspondence goes to
only one email - the one we have on file). You cannot share the Virtual Link with others (e.g., a second parent, the child/youth, a teacher) due to
privacy issues. But once the primary provider logs into the Virtual Call - the second person will then be invited into the call via text or email. If you wish to TEXT to invite the
guest - type in (e.g.,) +12223334444, no spaces just +sign and 11 digits. Or you send the invitation via email. Instructions can be found here (scroll to step 6).
-
Does my child have to be on the Virtual Visit? I do like to *see* the children/youth on the call but if you want your
child to stay at school and not join, that’s OK too. But I will ask always you to obtain a Height and Weight (in cm and kg) for your child prior to the visit.
-
Can I see Dr. Goldade in person? No. My practice is 100% Virtual.
-
What if I am vacationing in British Columbia or Mexico? As long as you typically reside in Alberta, we can visit Virtually from anywhere.
-
What happened to Dr. Goldade’s phone number? All correspondence with the office is via the THConnect App. Schools and Medical Offices can still use
[email protected] if needed. If you phone, you will be directed to the Patient Portal. Our phone line does not accept
voice messages.
-
I want to set up a Secure Correspondence, how do I do so? All communication with families can be done through the THConnect App which is fully secure. If you are a school, or
medical office, you may send encrypted information through Gmail. Sensitive information sent to our office should be password-protected.
-
Dr. Goldade have any Staff? Anna, Fallon & Devon are our Medical Office Administrators (MOA).
-
Is Dr. Goldade Retiring? Not yet! I have simply changed the way I practice medicine and how I offer service to my patients and their families. However, I
am expecting from first Grandchild in Sep 2026 - so things may change!!
-
What if I do not wish to participate in Virtual Visits? Know that a lot can be accomplished via Virtual Visits. But if this is not suitable for you
or your children, you may ask your Family Physician for a referral to another Paediatrician who practices in person.
